To celebrate the 24th Winter Olympic Games held in Beijing in 2022, Bank of China being the official banking partner of the 24th Winter Olympic Games, and in accordance with Administrative Regulation No. 13/2021, was authorized to issue the 24th Winter Olympic Games commemorative Pataca banknotes, with face value of MOP20.

The design on the obverse of the banknote consist of the Bank of China Macau Branch building, snowflake with stars pattern, which reflects the features of the season at the Winter Olympic Games and the great cohesive spirit of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The reverse of the banknote uses a vertical design, which features the short track speed skater and the National Speed Skating Hall. With the short track speed skating track and the Ruins of St. Paul of Macau as background images, it represents the resonance between the Olympic spirit and Macau's diverse and inclusive cultural spirit.
