Authentication Service of Letters of Guarantee or Standby Letters of Credit
Service Description
Beneficiaries holding a Letter of Guarantee or Standby Letter of Credit (hereinafter referred to as "LG/SBLC") issued by Bank of China Limited, Luxembourg Branch or Bank of China (Europe) S.A. (the “Bank") may require the Bank to authenticate the LG/SBLC (the “Authentication Request”). The Authentication Request shall be addressed to the Bank via SWIFT or in person.
Application Methods
1. SWIFT Authentication Request
The Beneficiary may send an Authentication Request via a SWIFT authenticated message through its account holding bank to the Bank for verification. SWIFT Codes for the Bank are as below: Bank of China Limited, Luxembourg Branch: BKCHLULLXXX; Bank of China (Europe) S.A. Luxembourg: BKCHLULAXXX.
The message must include key elements of the LG/SBLC for authenticity verification, including but not limited to the business reference number, issuing institution, amount, number of pages etc.
Note: Providing sufficient information is essential for an accurate authentication result.
2. In-Person Authentication Request
The beneficiary may authorize a representative to submit an Authentication Request in person at the Bank's office. The authorized representative must present the original LG/SBLC, a valid identification document and the authorization provided by the beneficiary to his representative.

Notification of Authentication Results
1. For SWIFT Authentication Requests: the Bank will respond to the inquiry via a SWIFT authenticated message within five (5) business days.
2. For In-Person Authentication Requests: The authentication result will be provided in a written letter signed by an authorized signatory of the Bank. The result will be delivered to the beneficiary either in person at the Bank’s office or via courier service as agreed between our bank and the beneficiary.
Please note that the Bank will not notify Authentication Results through other means, such as personal email, unsigned letters, or oral communication.
