Bank of China (Europe) S.A. Athens Branch (previous name “Bank of China （Luxembourg）S.A. Athens Branch” hereinafter referred to as " Athens Branch") was incorporated in November 2019. It is the first branch of Bank of China in Greece and the first Chinese financial institution officially approved to operate in Greece.

Athens Branch is affiliated with Bank of China (Europe)S.A.. As a light bank, Athens Branch relies on Bank of China (Europe) S.A. to provide financial services to its customers. Bank of China Luxembourg Branch was established in 1979, which is the first overseas branch set up by Bank of China after the establishment of the People’s Republic of China. It has been successfully operating and continually developing its business, and has contributed to the local and worldwide economic and social development. In January 2022， its name had been officially changed into Bank of China (Europe) S. A. With more than 40 years of expertise and experience in the European markets, Bank of China （Europe）S.A. stands today as the Group’s European Regional Hub, serving the European and Chinese “Go Global” company as the goal, and offering business solutions to its clients worldwide.
