Bank of China Gansu Branch (the Branch) donates RMB 1.188 million to support the reconstruction of the mudslide-devastated Zhouqu County in Gansu Province on August 19, 2010.
Shortly after the massive mudslide hit Zhouqu, the Branch launches several financial services to support the disaster area: providing emergency withdrawal and loss report services at all of its outlets in Gansu to the affected customers, providing temporary withdrawal (with the maximum limits) and temporary loss report services to those with incomplete banking vouchers, and opening a Green Channel promptly to handle the relief funds donated by people from all walks of life, without handling fees.
Following the devastating mudslide in Zhouqu, a non-stop rainstorm has been pounding Longnan, Tianshui and other regions in Gansu for days, putting these regions at a great risk of mudslides. After learning such risk, the Branch, while making the flood-prevention arrangements to ensure normal operation of its outlets, promptly appeals for disaster relief and rebuilding aid from its staff and raises a donation of RMB 188,000 in just two days.
