Bank of China Macau Branch (the Branch) staff donated MOP 500,000 to the mudslide-hit Zhouqu in Gansu Province through the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government (LOCPG) in Macau S.A.R in the afternoon of August 12, 2010.

Relevant leaders and the representatives of the Branch staff, including the Leisure Committee's Chairman Lao Chak Kuong, the Youth Association's Chairman Chan Hio Peng, as well as Ieong Chi Kuong, Lei Sio Weng, Ng Ian I and Chao Kin Man, handed over the donation to Mr. Gao Shangde, the representative of LOCPG, also the deputy head of the Economic Division of LOCPG.
Lao Chak Kuong said that, upon learning the devastating mudslide in Zhouqu through media, over one thousand staff of Macau Branch donated voluntarily up to MOP 500,000 in expectation to help the affected people out of the disastrous situation and rebuild their homeland soon, also to pay honor to all rescue forces including the PLA, medical teams and volunteers. Furthermore, the Branch opened special counters at all of its 28 outlets for receiving donations and launched electronic self-service donation facilities to provide charitable people with convenient and quick donation channels.
Gao Shangde expressed his appreciation to the staff of Macau Branch for their voluntary donation, and promised to transfer the donation to the mudslide-hit area quickly to assist the affected people to overcome difficulties and rebuild their homes early.
