In the Overall Ranking of Listed State-Owned Enterprises by Corporate Social Responsibility for 2009 organized and revealed by the Southern Weekly, Bank of China ranked the fifth place in the list of 100 enterprises for its prominent performances in terms of social responsibility, moving up one place as compared with that of 2008.
Overall Ranking of Listed State-Owned Enterprises by Corporate Social Responsibility is organized by the Southern Weekly in collaboration with the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, the Peking University Strategies Research Institution, School of Management of Fudan University, and the Center for Transnationals' Studies of Nankai University for selection of best performers in social responsibilities among the listed state-owned enterprises. The Southern Weekly boasts years of experience in holding the Overall Ranking of Chinese Private Enterprises (China's mainland) and Overall Ranking of Contribution of Fortune Global 500 in China. Moreover, with research and demonstration by experts, it has established a comprehensive evaluation system involving the key indicators such as operational status, social contribution, social responsibilities and public image for the Overall Ranking of Listed State-Owned Enterprises by Corporate Social Responsibility, showing a solid scientific basis and high degree of authority.
In the first Overall Ranking of Listed State-Owned Enterprises by Corporate Social Responsibility in 2008, Bank of China ranked sixth among the 100 companies for its outstanding performance in disaster relief and fulfillment of corporate social responsibilities.
