
The first four trucks of disaster relief supplies from Bank of China had departed from Xi'an by 23:00 on May 13, 2008, and arrived at the earthquake-affected area, Mianzhu County in Sichuan Province, on the morning of May 14.
To support the earthquake victims in Sichuan, Bank of China decided to make another donation of RMB 3 million in relief supplies following the previous allocation of RMB 23 million based on the latest situations of the quake-stricken area, and entrusted Bank of China Shaanxi Branch with the procurement and delivery of the relief supplies.
Upon receiving the order from the Head Office, Bank of China Shaanxi Branch immediately arranged relevant departments to designate special personnel, trucks and funds for procurement and transportation. By the afternoon of May 13, part of the supplies had been procured. By 22:45, trucks with the first batch of supplies had left Xi'an for Mianzhu County of Deyang City, Sichuan Province.
Seven trucks loaded with the second batch of supplies had left Xi'an for Sichuan by 15:00 on May 14.
