The campaign is sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Central Committee of Communist Youth League of China, All-China Women's Federation, Beijing Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games (BOCOG) and China Disabled Persons' Federation, and undertaken by Bank of China and China Commission of Promotion of Publicity for the Undertakings of Chinese Disabled Persons. Present at the press conference are Tang Xiaoquan, Executive Vice-president of BOCOG and Chairman of China Disabled Persons' Federation, Zhang Zhiwei, Deputy Secretary General of BOCOG, Li Lihui, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and President of Bank of China Limited.

President Li Lihui donates RMB 1.5 million to China Disabled Persons' Federation on behalf of Bank of China. Tang Xiaoquan grants the honorary tablet of "Enterprise Helping the Disabled with Culture" to Bank of China, and then announces the launch of the campaign.

Aiming at spreading the Olympic idea of "One World One Dream", the campaign not only advocates cultural exchange and integration, but also displays care for the disabled children. The 56 children are selected from 13 provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities to represent 56 ethnic groups. The children, half of whom are disabled, will arrive in Beijing on May 29 to participate in the campaign lasting one week with the theme of "Friendship, Harmony and Happiness". To help the children understand the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, feel the Olympic spirit, social harmony and warmness as well as to further bond the healthy with the disabled, the campaign is divided into the following sections: patriotism education, Olympics, sustained self-improvement, friendship with the representative children and interaction with families of the disabled. The sponsors will invite voluntary families to receive the children and help them fulfill their wish.

Tang Xiaoquan, Executive Vice-president of BOCOG, speaks highly of the campaign. She points out that the campaign spreads the Olympic idea of "One World One Dream", reflects the Olympic spirit and shows care for the children. She adds that the disabled children can build a bond with the healthy ones to share the charm of the Olympic Games. Zhang Zhiwei, Deputy Secretary General of BOCOG, expresses gratitude to all those involved in the preparation for Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. "We want to present a civilized, friendly Beijing and a harmonious, improved and developing China to the world by staging the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games", she said.

Li Lihui, President of Bank of China, indicates that Bank of China shows its support for the Paralympic Games and its care for the disabled and the younger generation by sponsoring the campaign. He emphasizes that Bank of China calls on more individuals, enterprises and institutions to take social responsibilities and make greater contribution to social harmony through supporting the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games.

Wang Yulong, the representative of Beijing's disabled children, and Zhang Naijing, the representative of Beijing's healthy children, delivered their speeches at the press conference. As Beijing natives and volunteers, they expressed their readiness for participation, and welcomed children from other cities to join the campaign.

As a partner of Beijing Olympic Games and Beijing Paralympic Games, Bank of China has always been supporting the public welfare undertakings. The bank not only offers financial services for the games, but also initiates a wide array of Olympic campaigns for the public to enjoy the Olympic spirit and experience "Humanistic Olympics".
