Bank of China Launches "Voluntarily Joining Hands for Closer Bonds"

On the afternoon of July 8, "Voluntarily Joining Hands for Closer Bonds" is kicked off at the head office building, which is aimed to provide long-term financial support to orphans, the lonely elderly and disabled persons in the earthquake-stricken area in Sichuan.

The campaign is sponsored by the Youth Union of Bank of China Head Office and the Communist Youth League Committee of Bank of China Head Office, the China Disabled Persons' Federation, the China Youth Development Foundation and the Sichuan Provincial Committee of Communist Youth League. The opening ceremony is attended by Zhang Lin, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of the Head Office, Wang Yongli, Vice President of Bank of China and Chairman of Bank of China's Youth Union, Lv Shiming, Executive Vice Director of the China Disable Persons' Federation, Yang Xiaoyu, Executive Vice Secretary General of the China Youth Development Foundation and Zhou Jian, Deputy Secretary of the Sichuan Provincial Communist Youth League Committee. Members of the general manager office of all departments of Bank of China Head Office, leadership team for Building Youth Civilization Unit, the Youth Union and the Communist Youth League Committee are also present.

Wang Yongli, Vice President of Bank of China and Chairman of the Youth Union, issues the Certificate of Image Ambassador to Tai Lihua, Director of the China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe, who will serve as the image ambassador for this event.

The show "Code of Life" performed by actors and actresses of the China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe brings the ceremony to a climax.

With the slogan of "gathering volunteers to rebuild homes" and the focus on "voluntarily joining hands", this campaign not only highlights the theme of "volunteerism", but also attempts to help disaster victims through collective efforts.

The campaign has received full support from "the Youth Civilization Unit" teams, employees, customers at outlets, and members of the Youth Union of Bank of China. More than 690 "Youth Civilization" units of Bank of China, 600 members of the Bank's Youth Union at all levels, and 18,000 employees of the bank have been involved since the initial stage. The campaign is expected to raise RMB 15 million in the coming three years.

As a long-term event, "Voluntarily Joining Hands for Closer Bonds" provides a platform for the volunteerism of customers and a voluntary service chain linking the front-end, mid-end and back-end, which is characteristic of the bank's business procedures. The campaign has fully demonstrated Bank of China's awareness of social responsibility.
