The dance "my dream" of the China Disabled People's Performing Art Troupe (CDPPAT), subsidized by Bank of China, has debuted on the Her Majesties Theatre, a well-known theatre in London on the evening of May 25, 2008 (London Time). Tai Lihua, President of CDPPAT, says after the performance that all the income will be donated to Sichuan earthquake region.
Fu Ying, Chinese ambassador in UK, watches the performance in tears. After that, Fu says with the artists that CDPPAT is not only a first-class performance team of China, but also has an outstanding virtue to donate all the income to the disaster region the next day after the earthquake. CDPPAT doesn't disappoint her motherland and people.
With the help of a sign language interpreter, Tai Lihua says that CDPPAT is gradually developing under the care of the society. Disabled people have realized their dreams in CDPPAT, and meanwhile their strong will and beautiful minds influence the surroundings. She adds that disabled people should also make contributions to the compatriots in difficulties.
She also expresses sincere gratitude to Bank of China. With the bank's full support, CDPPAT can perform in UK without any worry.
Richard Barnes, Deputy Mayor of London, says after the performance: I'm deeply impressed with both their beautiful appearance and pure soul. There is no boundaries in arts and civilization, and we welcome CDPPAT and wish the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games a great success.
Ge Qi, CEO of Bank of China (UK) Limited, watches the debut performance on behalf of the Head Office. Ge thanks CDPPAT for bringing "love" to UK and says that Sichuan people will definitely reconstruct their home with full support of Chinese compatriots at home and abroad.
Invited by the "British Chinese Forum", 50 members of CDPPAT will continuously perform in other cities like London, Manchester, Birmingham, and Cardiff. After the performance in Europe, they will perform for the people in the earthquake-stricken areas and disaster relief personnel.
