Bank of China in Canada
Bank of China (Canada) (“BOCC”), a wholly owned subsidiary of Bank of China Limited, officially commenced business in Toronto on May 18, 1993. It possesses a Schedule II bank license granted by the Ministry of Finance of Canada. BOCC’s headquarter is located in Markham, ON. On October 1, 2016, a Schedule III bank license was granted to Bank of China Toronto Branch (“BOCTB”), which commenced business on November 16, 2016 and located in Downtown Toronto. Currently, BOCC’s and BOCTB’s operations cover Great Toronto Area, Calgary, Montreal and Vancouver.
BOCC and BOCTB have aimed at promoting trade and investment between China and Canada, and served as a channel to facilitate cultural exchange between the two countries as its social responsibilities. They focus on filling in gaps in client service by local financial institutions, and supporting Canadian enterprises to expand their business in China and other regions globally and the Chinese companies doing business in Canada. With Bank of China Group’s global network and diversified financial services platforms, the main lines of business of BOCC and BOCTB include Corporate banking, Personal banking, Institutional banking and Financial Markets.

Currently, BOCC is a member of the Canadian Payments Association, Canada Deposit Insurance Corporation, Canadian Bankers Association, Canada-China Business Association and Canada China Business Council.
